What kind of wood is used for a FLEXA bed?
All FLEXA wood components are made from pine trees from North European forests located north of the 60th parallel. Here, the trees grow slowly on account of the cold. This gives the wood a strong fiber structure and greater mass than other types of pine. FLEXA recently purchased a majority stake in ZAO Zapkarelles, a Russian company with licenses covering over 2 million acres of forest in order to better control this precious resource. FLEXA practices sustainable forestry, as approved of by the Forest Stewardship Council, a global accreditation body meant to help preserve the earth's forests. The company requires that all suppliers have the same goals and policies toward protecting the forests.
What is the difference between a FLEXA bed and a FLEXA Inspiration Bed?
The FLEXA bed system has rounded corners and is made from solid wood. The FLEXA Inspiration Bed has round metal legs and rest of the bed is solid wood as well. The Inspiration system has a special plastic glass front, which allows you to add posters, personal pictures and drawings, change the look whenever you like. Both bed systems are supplied in clear and white-wash finish and you can add supplementary beds, extra legs, ladders, rails and accessories.

For your child’s safety it is recommend that you use a handle with the angled ladder.
What is more appropriate for a bunk bed: a straight or an angled ladder?
This is a personal preference. An angled ladder needs more space than a straight ladder. And for some kids it is easier to climb into the bed with an angled ladder.

All FLEXA beds are tested for International and American safety standards: US requirements indicate that the bed has to withhold a constant pressure for 5 minutes of 400 lbs.
How can I preserve the FLEXA furniture?

Where is FLEXA furniture manufactured?
At FLEXA, we take care of the entire value chain ourselves. From picking the trees at our own forest in Russia, to preparing the raw timber at our facilities in Estonia and Denmark. In Estonia we have our own sawmills for cutting, drying, planning and rounding of the wood components. From Estonia we then send the semi-completed components to our 3 Lack & Pack units in Hornsyld, Denmark (which supplies Europe), Suffolk, Virginia (which supplies the United States), and Suzhou, China (which supplies Asia). The FLEXA slat system softens pressure points and contours with your child’s back and brings it into the correct sleep position.
