Developing good mattresses for children presents a major challenge, because children grow! As a child grows, their needs in a mattress will change. Very few mattresses have been developed to provide optimal support for varying weight classes, which is why many children end up with mattresses that they have outgrown.
Typically, a mattress is divided into zones with pressure points in the zones that you put the most weight on. However, this technique does not provide optimal support for children. Children move around during the night, changing their position frequently. Therefore, the zones are not effective for a child's mattress.
